Internship Description
PrideFest is seeking interns to assist our communications department,
which includes advertising, journalism, marketing, and public relations.
PrideFest is a non-profit organization, so all internship are unpaid;
however, credit arrangements can be with school internship coordinators.
Students, depending on their areas of study, may gain experience in
ad sales, writing and editing, direct marketing, and customer relationship
management. The internship will last from January 26, 2008 through June
8, 2008. All majors are welcome.
Needed Skills
Good writing and editing abilities (required)
Excellent customer service (required)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel (required)
Access to E-mail/Internet (required)
Print and Web layout knowledge
Web design experience
Photo and graphic art design and editing
Potential Duties
Write press releases, articles, and other content for Web and other
media
Outreach and relationship management to festival patrons, sponsors,
and media
Field media requests and conduct onsite media tours during the festival
Serve as PrideFest representatives during the festival and festival
promotional events for patrons, sponsors, V.I.P. guests, and media.
Documentation and Deadlines
Each internship candidate should send his or her résumé,
cover letter, and two writing or design samples to marketing@pridefest.com.
Samples can include press releases, articles, graphic art, and similar
