As the largest LGBT Pride event on permanent
festival grounds in the United States, Wisconsin's PrideFest has
become a regional destination and a key element in the fabric
that links members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual
and Transgendered community. Founded in 1988 in a neighborhood
park, the festival has more than doubled in size since its
move to the Maier Festival Gounds, home to the world-famous
Summerfest music festival.
This successful and well-attended weekend event also gives
members of the community at-large a chance to interact with
and establish new relationships and connections with members
of our LGBT family.
PrideFest organizers and the hundreds of volunteers who
continue to make this event a huge local, regional and national
success have created an environment that celebrates and
honors diversity, culture and unity.
The three-day event features:
- History exhibits
- Sports competitions
- Cultural and advocacy presentations
- Entertainment
- Youth village
- Children's area
- Fun shopping
- Special events
- Great food
