Saturday, June 11: Shaton

2016 shatonShaton performs at the Wom!nz Spot on Saturday, June 11 at 3:45 p.m.

Shaton Andrews sang her first solo at the age of six in a school program.

Hailing from Lansing, MI, Shaton has a very vast love of music, and sites Patti LaBelle, Jill Scott, Anita Baker, and Whitney Houston as some of her biggest inspirations. This powerful vocalist has won first place in several singing competitions throughout Michigan.

On February 17, 2010, she followed her dreams by taking her talents to the legendary Amateur night competition at the world famous Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY. Since relocating to Detroit, Shaton has been the featured performer at various venues throughout the city’s poetry scene.

Shaton always says that she is “truly grateful for the gift” she has been blessed with. She plans to always continue entertaining and sharing her gift because she feels that it is too precious to keep to herself.
