PrideFest 2015 offers religious activites

From choirs to chants to ceremonies, our festival offers a wide array of faith services.

PrideFest Kirtan

“Chaitanya sankirtan” by Calcutta Art Studio – British Library

This year’s interfaith prayer service will be a kirtan experience.   Kirtan is a form of bhakti yoga (the yoga of devotion) centered around the chanting of ancient mantras to the accompaniment of instruments such as the harmonium and drums to raise the energetic vibrations to remove barriers, increase compassion and enter into devotion.   In addition to our chants, our interfaith kirtan will include readings, teachings and prayers from various traditions to create a unique and inspiriting prayer experience.  The experience will be complete with fire and light dancing.  Our Kirtan leader will be local artist Scott Hestenkin  STONEWALL STAGE Friday, 7PM

Join in the singing:

Our interfaith choir will learn the chants for the kirtan at a rehearsal on Sunday, May 17th at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 3022 W. Wisconsin Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53208 from 4pm to 6pm.  All are welcome to join the choir!  Instrumentalists are also welcome.    For more information email Rev.
