En Vogue performs on the Miller Lite Mainstage at PrideFest Milwaukee Sunday, June 7 at 9 P.M.
En Vogue is a Grammy-nominated American female R&B vocal group currently comprised of Cindy Herron-Braggs, Terry Ellis, and Rhona Bennett.
The group rose to prominence nearly 20-years ago with hits such as “Hold On,” “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel,” “Free Your Mind,” and “Whatta Man” featuring Salt-N-Pepa.
With an authentic identity made up of personal style, sophistication, sass, and sex appeal, En Vogue went on to sell over eight million albums. The group has recorded five albums in total, in addition to several compilations.
Celebrated for their vocal and overall performance style, En Vogue has been inspirational to R&B and pop groups such as Destiny’s Child and the Pussy Cat Dolls.
Despite internal changes, En Vogue has consistently been analogized to Motown veterans such as the Temptations. En Vogue’s musical accomplishments are profound and enduring. In 2008, the group performed at the BET Awards in a medley with Alicia Keys, TLC, and SWV. In 2011, the girls visited and performed at a number of US Military Bases in Iraq. Most recently in 2012, the group commenced a successful worldwide tour and took part in a number of film and television projects.
Billboard magazine ranks the group as one of the greatest musical groups of all time, the eighteenth most successful artist/band of the 2000s. The group has won more MTV Video Music Awards than any other female group in its history, a total of seven, along with five Soul Train Awards, six American Music Awards, and seven Grammy nominations.
